My Top 10 Wrestling PPV's Of All Time

I am a die hard WWE wrestling fan and i have watched many excellent WWE PPV's over the years. This is a list of my top 10 PPV's and a brief description of my thoughts on them.
10. Backlash(2001)-Out of the seven matches on the card, there were three matches that stood out for me. The first was the last man standing match between Shane Mcmahon and the Big Show. This match saw some good solid hardcore action and saw Mcmahon jump nearly 50 feet off a Titantron right onto Show leading to his victory. I also enjoyed the classic submission match between Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit, as it contained some of the best pure wrestling i have seen. I was also in awe of the Main Event that saw Triple H and Stone Cold Steve Austin defeat The Undertaker and Kane for the tag team titles. The match was a brawl from start to finish and included many twists and turns. Good show overall.
9.Wrestlemania 21(2005)-This show featured a classic match between Kurt Angle and Shawn Micheals, a battle between The Undertaker and a young Randy Orton and a solid main event between Triple H and Batista. I also enjoyed the return of Hulk Hogan during a segment with Eugene, Muhammad Hassan(great talent) and Divari. I also liked the Hollywood segments WWE did with the show.
8.No Way Out(2000)-This is one of my favorite shows simply because of the last two matches on the card. The match between the Rock and The Big Show was a fun brawl that saw a returning Shane Mcmahon(he had been out 2 months), screw the Rock, providing a twist in a solid storyline that will culminate in a Fatal 4 Way match for the WWF Title. It was a complete shocker to fans at the time, including me. I also enjoyed the epic Hell in a Cell match between Triple H and Mick Foley, as it matched the intensity of their hardcore match a month earlier at the Royal Rumble.
7.Unforgiven(2006)-This show featured four excellent matches. The IC title match between Jeff Hardy and Johnny Nitro was an awesome display of athletic ability. The Women's title match between Trish Stratus and Lita was the best women's match i had seen in years. The Hell in A Cell Match between DX , The Mcmahons and Big Show was brutal and funny and the TLC Match between John Cena and Edge for the WWE title was impressive as i ever seen from either superstar.
6.Summerslam(2002)-Summerslam 2002, three oustanding wrestling matches, a brawl for the ages and a start of a new era. Angle vs Mysterio brought energy and excitement. Ric Flair vs Chris Jericho and Edge vs Eddie Guerrero brought skill. The no holds barred match between Triple H and Shawn Micheals was a war and Brock Lesnar vs the Rock was a bullfight. Great show.
5.Wrestlemania XII(1996)-Shawn Micheals vs Bret Hart in a 60 minute Iron Man Match for the WWE title. Nothing else needs to be said.
4.Money In The Bank(2011)-This is one of the most exciting shows WWE has ever done. The Raw and Smackdown Money In the Bank matches were awesome and the main event between John Cena and CM Punk for the WWE Title was the greatest main event in the 2007(PG) era.
3.Wrestlemania XIX(2003)-The Rock vs Austin for the third and final time, Hogan vs Vince Mcmahon, Jericho vs HBK and Angle vs Lesnar. Big time performances here.
2.ECW One Night Stand(2005)-Almost 3 hours of Extreme wrestling. It was an amazing scene that night. The emotion of the fans and wrestlers alike were very joyful to watch.
1.Wrestlemania X7(2001)-This was WWE at the height of its powers. Triple H, Kurt Angle, The Rock, Stone Cold, The Undertaker, Eddie Guerrero, The Mcmahon Family, Mick Foley, etc. This was the single greatest display of star power in wrestling history. I have not seen a show like this before it and i have not seen one since. Best PPV of all time in my humble opinion.

Movie Talk :My Top 10 Films of All Time

I love movies. I love them. Comedy. Drama. Suspense. Science Fiction. I'm a fan of the whole genre. Hell i hope one day i will convince a newspaper to give me a job as a movie critic. Roger Egbert ain't got nothing on me! :) On this blog which is new, i will talk frequently about movies, performances, and other topics related to the film world. These are my top ten films of all time in order from 10 to 1.

10. Do The Right Thing(1989)-This is the best movie Spike Lee has ever made and it cracks my list of all time favorites. The controversial film which takes a dive into the chaotic racial tensions in a Brooklyn neighborhood, is a masterpiece by Lee. In my humble opinion it is the greatest piece of filmaking as it relates to race. No cookie cutter bullshit my friends. 100% honesty. It showed that ALL races can be as racist as they want to be. Lee painted a portrait of race that i will not soon forget.

 9. Rocky(1976)-Sylvester Stallone knew what he was doing when he created this spectacle known as the Rocky. The character of Rocky was so intriguing to watch because he was such a flawed human being, but so likeable. He was a street guy but he was also a gentlemen and a great fighter. In the end he does not beat Apollo Creed for the title but he still wins in my eyes because he NEVER QUIT. That is the message kids, keep pushing. Life will kick your ass at times but you have to continue to FIGHT. That is why Rocky hold s a special place in my heart.

8. Moneyball(2011)-Brad Pitt performance was simply perfect here. In Billy Beane he forms one of the most entertaining and winning characters ever imo. What makes it even better is that Beane is a real life figure! Pitt and his co-star Jonah Hill display an amazing chemistry that was enjoyable to watch. I went into this movie not even being a big baseball fan but i found myself engaged at the run of the Beane's Oakland's Athletics. It was such a fun experience watching a team come together.like that. This movie made all the right moves.

7. Training Day(2001)-Denzel as a villian. Bring it on! I loved this movie because he shows how seductive evil can be. The plotline of Alonzo Harris(Washington) manipulating Jake Hoyt(Ethan Hawke) for his own personal gain was interesting to watch because it showed how desperate people can get when they want to get ahead. Hoyt knew Harris was a scumbag but after vile action Harris committed, Hoyt is convinced by him that it was a necessary thing. Hoyt wanted to make detective and gritted his teeth at every action. The climax is also masterful because it showed what happens when a man loses his power and STILL believes he is untouchable. Great film.

6. Glengarry Glen Ross(1992)-You will never see a finer cast of actors in a film as you do here. This is acting at its absolute finest. Pacino, Harris, Lemmon, Baldwin, Spacey, Arkin, and Pryce. The interaction that takes place between all the characters is phenomenal. The tension and drama in this film is top notch. The scene with Baldwin ranting is classic. Superb film.

5. Saving Private Ryan(1998)-There are no words to describe the emotions i felt watching this film. The brotherhood of the military in this film is tearjerking. Excellent film with excellent performances.

4. Hollywood Shuffle(1987)-I absolutely love satire. It is a sharp, smart and funny way to get your point across. Robert Townsend is a genius. This film is outstanding from start to finish.

3. Goodfellas(1990)-Mob films are always ranked among the greatest films of all time and Goodfellas is proof of that. This film is based on a real story of the Lucchese crime family and it is a masterpiece in acting, directing, storytelling and cinematography. Perfect film.

2. The Last King of Scotland(2006)-I do not think any actor will match the pure intensity and charm that Forest Whitaker brought to his role of Idi Amin. It is the best acting performance that i ever seen personally. It was a masterful piece of acting. Amazing work. The film is so dramatic and tense throughout and breathtaking. Its a gem.

1. Pulp Fiction(1994)-This is the greatest film i have ever seen. Everything i said regarding Goodfellas relates to this film times 10. The movie world had never seen something like this when it came out and has not seen anything since. Pulp Fiction is thrilling, violent, controversial and intriguing in EVERY SINGLE  SCENE! The dialogue is epic. You have to watch this movie at least once in your lifetime. Its too damn good.

That is my list. kimwong54@yahoo.com
